This bead symbolizes the ability to keep thinking positively despite a very difficult time. It also depicts great perseverance. The drawing on the bead shows a boy trying to escape from a difficult situation that hurts very badly. He has to walk up a staircase consisting of knives, to get to the exit/exit (road to freedom). His hands and feet begin to bleed, but he keeps trying and does not give up. The slashing knives symbolize the feeling that everyone is against you. The wounds do heal, but you keep seeing the scars. Without my strength to stay positive and persevere, it would have been much worse.
