The supermassive black hole at the center of our Milky Way. Trauma is remarkably different from grief. Different from anger, fear or regret. It can hide on both good days and bad. And at the same time, it can dominate your life. When I think of my trauma, there are not enough tears to ease this pain. Nowhere is far enough to flee to. My trauma manifests as a heavy, deep pit in the middle of all that I am, threatening to pull everything to itself.
