This bead tells my birth story. On the bead you can see fingerprints. These represent the DNA/imprint the parents leave on your own identity. That imprint is defining and has both positive and negative effects. The blue surface symbolizes father’s hometown, in another country, in an unknown place. The tape measure tells something about the pernicious conditions I was in just after her birth. I was underweight and too small. This was probably due to Mom’s alcohol consumption and malnutrition during pregnancy. In the ideal world, you have parents who take care of you and make sure there is enough food in the house. But unfortunately that is not always the case.
